The veteran MC confirmed the deal to MTV at the launch of Google Music Monday. "I'm extremely proud to be aligned with Cash Money," he said on the red carpet. Busta also spoke on the unique nature of the deal, which includes a joint venture with Google Music.
"It's an unbelievably groundbreaking deal, [there's] never been a deal done like this before, where the most powerful search engine in the world combines with the most powerful record company in the world," he said
To toast the new deal, Rhymes released the first single from his upcoming album, "E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event) 2: End Of The World". The song, "Why Stop Now," features Chris Brown, whom he partnered with on the smash single "Look At Me Now". "Me and Chris Brown started off 2011 with "Look At Me Now" and we had such a phenomenal year, it was only right to me that we did a record called 'Why Stop Now' at the end of 2011," Rhymes says. The track is available for free on Google Music.
A report via MissInfo said that New Orleans rapper Mystikal has also signed with Cash Money Records, but the furiously fast rhymer has yet to confirm.
