During my short tenure as a small business owner. I've learned that effective marketing and promotion to your customer base is very key in the long term success of any business. One technique that i learned from Johnny Cupcakes Blog is effective use of visuals. By taking high quality photos of events and showcases, customers are able to see what they are buying rather than purchasing a fad. Another concept that i use and have always used is the social media. Facebook and Twitter are two great platforms to present new ideas and merchandise to the general public. Its also very inexpensive, this is a major plus for new businesses. Johnny Cupcakes

VALENTINA
"VALENTINA a/k/a "YOUNG ANNY MAY" has been
referred to as North Carolina's own "Hip Hop Southern Bell." Hands down, this young lady has been
generating a nice buzz in Hip Hop lately.
On face value, VALENTINA displays an innocent, Black/Latina
princess, mixed with a SPLASH of Indian that you instantly fall in love with.
Even dear old mom is sure to recognize that she is a lady in the street and a
freak behind closed doors; just like she once was.
When it comes to her lyrics, VALENTINA is considered a raw
experience to say the least. This lil mama from the Dirty South is definitely
meant for a more mature audience. Suffering from what is known in the Old South
as a “potty mouth", VALENTINA lets it all hang out on stage. Everyone can
relate as her lyrics tap into every woman's inner freak and every man’s
fantasy.
Her single, “Gripping the Faucet”, is an X rated,
"getting it in", type of song. To see her perform "Gripping the
Faucet”, is usually an "Okay, that’s what’s up” type of experience. VALENTINA
takes instant command of the mic, the stage, and the crowd, leaving haters
saying "She Aaagiht.", and later saying "okay, she really did
put it on for her City."
On 4/19/11, “Gripping the Faucet” made its debut on Shade 45
XM radio's Hate it or Love it show. The song survived the raw, uncut critique
of listeners from all over the Country. Hate it or Love it is known for its
callers taking a no-holds barred approach to new artists. “Gripping the Faucet”
received 4.5 out of 5 stars. Most callers were intrigued by her lyricism and
turned on by her explicit wordplay. Only one person thought it was just wrong
for a “lady” to put it out there like that. On 5/3/11 “Gripping the Faucet”,
and her second single, “VALENTINA”, aired on Shade 45 XM Morning Show, “Don’t Quit Your Day Job”, both were
unanimously praised.
On 5/17/11, VALENTINA landed 1st place during Fayetteville’s
“Iron Mic” competition, sponsored by Foxy 99.1 FM. Her song "DAME
DINERO" won over the very stiff competition and the judges declared
VALENTINA as the winner and she moved on to the semi-finals. Shortly after, "Gripping
the Faucet" hit the airwaves on Foxy 99.1 FM's Independent Spotlight and her
Collaboration on "The Chicken Song Remix" with North Carolina's own
PJandmore also landed her airplay on Foxy 99.1 FM.
Can VALENTINA Freestyle? Well, as a matter of fact yes she
can. In July of 2011, VALENTINA reigned as freestyle battle champ twice in a
row at the “Spot Lounge" in Fayetteville. She also hit the ground running
and performed numerous times at several open mic’s throughout North Carolina. Here
is a partial list:
Coaches, Southern
Style Saloon, Club Envy “Iron Mic”, Rock Shop, Club Escape, Spot Lounge, DM, s,
Club Illusions, The Armor, and Three Diamonds Night Club.
While on Break from performing, VALENTINA went underground
and began to focus more on her writing in order to complete her mix-tape and
develop a strong catalog of material. This catalog continues to grow steady and
strong.
On November 1, 2011, VALENTINA released the song “2 Painful
2 Remember”, a Domestic Violence song. The song is a true story that she
experienced in her past and decided to release it, hoping someone who “needed”
to hear it, would get help for their situation. The nickname “Young Anny May”
was given to her by a family member, referring to a connection to the real
Annie Mae Bullock, a/k/a Tina Turner, the Grammy award winning songstress; also
a victim of Domestic Violence.
Gracing the Front Cover of Empire Radio Magazine’s November,
2011 issue, VALENTINA mentions some of her background in a 2 page article as
well as her feelings towards females in Hip Hop. The blog
site www.STARberryicecream.com
has featured VAELENTINA on two separate occasions, July and in November.
On November 20, 2011 VALENTINA was awarded Best Female Rap
Solo artist at the IAMA (Independent Artist Music Awards) in Fayetteville North
Carolina. This was an honor well
deserved.
Holding down the #3 Spot on the www.Reverbnation.com Hip Hop local charts for Fayetteville,
VALENTINA is definitely on the radar and her plane is about to land safely on
Hip Hop's runway. Stay tuned, as her mix-tape, "A Taste of Me" will
be arriving soon. The album, “VALENTINA'S DAY” is anticipated to drop 3rd
quarter, 2012.
